Learning Journey

As with all non-communicable diseases (diabetes, cancer, Cardiovascular Disease and  respiratory disease), diet and lifestyle play a major role in both prevention and management of these conditions. According to the Heart Foundation of South Africa, up to 80% of heart disease and stroke can be prevented by healthy diet and lifestyle choices. If one was to give a diet a name or particular orientation, then it can be said that the meditteranean-type diet is the one diet that has been tested globally to help improve Cardiovascular Disease. This plan is supported by the cardiologists throughout the USA, United Kingdom, Australia, South America and Europe.
